News - Youth Center of Corinthia

| The Youth Centre of Corinthia is the regional youth centre of the Corinthian County (southern Greece)
It has the legal status of a non-profit company with partners the County (Prefecture) of Corinthia, the Youth County Council and the City of Corinth. |
|
It coordinates the Corinthian Youth Centres Network (9 youth centres) and supports local authorities in the youth service area. The Youth Centre of Corinthia hosts volunteers and practicioners from different European countries since 1999 in the frame of the European Mobility Programmes such as the "European Voluntary Service" (EVS), the "Leonardo da Vinci" Programme, etc. It cooperates with European Networks established in the frame of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

ACTIVE DISCOVERY OF CORINTH
On
Wednesday 15th of September 2010, the new EVS volunteers and Leonardo
Da Vinci trainees of the Youth Centre of Corinthia, participated to
the activities “Active discovery of Corinth”. This was the
occasion for Pjarne and Katrin (from Island), Kajsa, Suzana, P…
and Emma from Finland, and Kadri from Estonia, to get to know Corinth
through an interactive game. Through enigma and questions they could
get to know some of infrastructures of the town (Folklore Museum,
Post Office, Church, Art Gallery, University, etc) and some of its
cultural features.
We wish them a pleasant stay and many learnings and discoveries!
Youth Caravan is ‘flying’ to Greece
Youth Caravan having done more than 30.000 kilometers and have been to 50 cities all around Turkey during last two years, it’s now ready to open its wings and fly to Greece. With 12 young persons crew from 6 different countries (Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Latvia, Portugal), Youth caravan’s trip is starting from Ankara on 4th of May. |  |
Italian Scouts visiting Corinth in the frame of the "Summer's Route St. Paul"
Italian scouts from the South Italian province of Lecce, members of Galatone's 1st group named "Don Mimino Colazzo", visited Greece in the frame of a scouting project following St. Paul's Letters.
The group of 19 scouts stayed in Corinth during the period 1st until 8th August in 2009, hosted by the Corinthian Scouts Regional Body.
Theatrical European Youth Exchange – European Cultural Capital “Ruhr 2010”
he Youth Center of Corinthia is the Greek representatives of the, European Cultural Capital 2010, of the region of Ruhr in Germany (cities of Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund, etc.).
In this frame takes place the theatrical European youth exchange with title “Classical Youth ” from 5 – 19.4.2010.

Italian language conversation workshop
Any youth from Corinthia are welcome to participate to the Italian language conversation workshop, carried out by our Amicus volunteer Sara.

Information meeting about EVS
On Monday 8th of March, took place the 3rd information meeting for 2010 about the European Voluntary Service.
During this meeting where presented: technical aspects of the programme, reflection about ways of learning and interculturality, interaction with current foreign EVS volunteers, testimony of ex-volunteer project.
